Word out of Germany is that Steve Cherundolo hasn't been playing due to issues with his hip.
Were Dolo not able to go for the game on February 11th, who should get the start? One has to think Bob Bradley is giving strong consideration to Frankie Hejduk due to his ties to Columbus and his absurd work rate, nevermind his experience in this sort of game. Still, Marvell Wynne presents an equally exciting option for the US Nats due to his speed and progression over the last few seasons in MLS. The downside is that Wynne has not played in a game of this caliber previously, whereas Hejduk has been playing against Mexico since before it was cool.
Bottom line, I think Hejduk gets the nod due to his experience and the motivation he'll get from the home crowd, but as the qualifying progresses, I think Wynne will become the number 2 to Cherundolo before it's all said and done.
